Keeping it Real

Words May Fail, But He Never Will

Sometimes the days are overwhelming,
It’s too dark to see God’s face,
Sometimes my heart forgets to sing,
My days too choked to remember His grace.

But today He reminds me,
That He is never far away
He sees me through the darkness;
Even in times I can’t really pray.

His Spirit intercedes with groans
when I have no words to speak,
He supplies His strength
when I feel so very weak.

He moves mountains which I don’t always see
It’s only when seasons change, His fingerprints are evident to me.

So even though it’s dark
And my spirit feels heavy and worn
Though I don’t always see Him,
He is always near. The veil was torn.

Heavenly Father, Sometimes the words are difficult to form. Certain seasons seem too overwhelming for eloquence. But You know my thoughts from afar. You know how I am formed. You remember that we are dust. You don’t expect eloquence or even fully formed words. You want my heart, my dependence. So, Lord, today, when everything seems too much to handle, I am so grateful that I get to hand it over to You. I rest in Your embrace. In Jesus’ name. Amen
